Installation Instructions:
1. Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled R161008.EXE.
2. The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or unzip to C:DELLDRIVERSR161008. Write down this path so the executable (I.e. Setup.exe) file can be found later.
3. The Self-Extractor window appears.
4. Click OK.
5. After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor window is still open, close it.
6. Click the Start button and then click Run.
7. Type C:DELLDRIVERSR161008 in the Open textbox and then click OK.
8. Follow the on-screen installation instructions.

You problably have several network controlers - that's very common for years - on your PC. The one that currently doesn't work is an Ethernet one that is used to connect your PC to a network using a cable. Next to it you probably have a Wireless network controller. If the latter works you have access to your local network and/or Internet even if your Ethernet controller doesn't work. Of course if your Wireless controller was having that problem but not your Ethernet controller you would still have access to your local network and/or Internet but using a cable that time.

- Take note of the Hardware Id of your device ([Win]+X / Device Manager / Network adapter / Double-click on your Broadcom NetXtreme device / Details tab / Select Hardware Ids in Property / Right-click 2nd Value / Copy)
- Open your preferred Internet browser and search the Net for the Hardware Id you just Copied - Paste the value to avoid any mistake. The results you'll find should help you identify what the exact model you have - there are several according to the Broadcom Ethernet NIC Driver Downloads page
